SAND SCULPTING CONTEST
Check-In & Plot Assignments
North end of the Boardwalk; Foot of the Bolstad approach; Look for the Sandsations Trailer. Check in, get your plot assignment and grab a hoodie, t-shirts or baseball caps available for purchase here.
Construction & Judging (5 hours)
Look for the designated family area. Free for families to play and spend the day!
Judging takes place throughout the competition and is based on:
- suitability to sand
- creativity
- effort
- design
- intricacy
- teamwork
- overall appearance

Sand Flea Pet Parade
Prizes and Notoriety guaranteed! This event within our event is produced by our local no-kill Shelter, the South Pacific County Humane Society. Prizes for • Best Costume • Beachiest Pet • Best Pet Trick • Pet-Owner Lookalike • …and whatever else the wholly unqualified, volunteer judges might decide to award!
Stop by the Shelter’s tent during the castle building to say hello, get a dog cookie and a fresh drink of water, and to register for the Parade. There’s no entry fee, but donations are always welcome.
This event is very informal. Our volunteer emcee will ask everyone registered for a particular competition to enter the ring and parade in a circle. Our volunteer photographers will be snapping pics as the volunteer judges deliberate. Winners are announced and prizes are awarded at the very end.
No fancy-schmancy dog show here, just good, old-fashioned FUN!
ALL PETS MUST BE LEASHED AND KEPT OUT OF SCULPTING PENS.
