Saturday the much-anticipated Sand-sculpting competition Extravaganza will take place along the shoreline, adjacent to the Long Beach boardwalk and near the Bolstad beach approach. Youth, Novice, Intermediate and Master sculptors will have six hours to transform beach sand into imaginative sculptures.
COME OUT ON THE BEACH AND VIEW SCULPTURES BEFORE 2PM, AS MOTHER NATURE DOES NOT OBSERVE OUR TIMELINES!
Registration fees range from $65 for masters to $1 each for children under 12, who will also be recognized for their participation. Registrations, along with sponsorship, allows this volunteer-driven festival to be rated the #1 sand sculpting festival by Coastal Living Magazine.

Check-In & Plot Assignments: 7:00 am
MASTER teams will have 6am check-in & plot assignments as they have large frames to unload. All competition will end at the same time as other categories at 2pm

Construction & Judging: 6:00 am – 12:00 pm
ALL CONSTRUCTION BEGINS, 6AM AND ENDS AT 12PM
Contestants have 6 hours to transform beach sand into imaginative sculptures.
The judges will vote on the best in four categories – masters, intermediate, novice, and family – for overall appearance, creativity, teamwork, effort, design, suitability to sand, and intricacy. Judging takes place throughout construction so have fun and show your team spirit!
Prizes; Gifts donated by local merchants, cash prizes up to $900. & sponsor gift cards.

Awards Ceremony 1pm
See who won all these great prizes! The awards presentation will take place at the Kiwanis hot dog area at approximately 3PM, before the incoming surf slowly washes away even the largest sculptures. (standing on, climbing, damaging the sculptures is prohibited)
